Ariel Young Arthur is a Health Policy Analyst from the Kentucky Department for Public Health Office of Health Equity where she works to reduce inequities throughout the commonwealth. She is a passionate and engaged public health professional with a focus on issues of equity and justice. She graduated from The George Washington University in May of 2014 with a BA in Biological Sciences and a minor in Public Health. While in college she developed a commitment to eliminating barriers to optimal health for marginalized and disadvantaged communities.
Vivian Lasley-Bibbs, MPH, is the acting branch manager and Epidemiologist for the Kentucky Department for Public Health Office of Health Equity (OHE). She is also the state coordinator for Healthy People 2020 and has over 20 years of public health experience.
The primary objectives of the OHE are to 1) increase awareness of health disparities; 2) enhance patient-provider communication, 3) improve cultural and linguistic competency in delivering health services; and 4) improve coordination and utilization of research and outcome evaluations.
